Neptune Raids Again, chapter 3: A weapon to surpass the CPU May 22, 2017 4:35:38 GMT

Unable to catch the elusive Chayse before she reached the weapons bay, our heroes could only watch in horror at Mutou dropped the terrifying super weapon, the Oxygen Destroyer onto her own city! CG's mysterious leader, the High Empress, effortlessly shielded the entire city in a small display of power. The surrounding region, however, was totally devastated...
But, our heroes had more pressing concerns. Mutou had fried the entire Dreadnought, sending it on a crash course to almost certain death! Escaping with Blanc as her prisoner, Mutou left the party to their fate. If it weren't for the quick thinking of Carlo and support from the mysterious Ishtar and the CPUs, they never would have made it out alive.
Unfortunately, they found the High Empress herself waiting for them as they landed... And without any trouble, she turned the whole ship into her own origami piece. Almost the entire crew died gruesomely.
The one silver lining in all this was that Histoire herself finally returned to the party, thanks to the help of Broccoli. However, she brought with her a startling revelation...
The High Empress is no mere prophet. She's the original goddess herself, the source of every CPU whoever existed in this world. This would explain her overwhelming power, and her ability to cancel out the CPUs' power... The fight against Celestia's Gate would be an uphill battle.
Most of our adventurers gathered at Lowee's basilicom to talk strategy. The hunt for shares and information was on!
Noire, however, would be scooped up along with the lecherous Chen, and through the machinations of the morally ambiguous CG scientist Dr. Freak, they'd find their bodies swapped. Unable to fully adjust to their situation, they still mounted an attempt to rescue Blanc while they were at the mansion, foiled by the likes of RPGe and Ubel.
Ubel... A powerful mercenary with strange powers over blood, working for Mutou alone, every bit her equal in skill and power. The two seem to have a deeper connection.
Carlo and Ishtar also found themselves inside the mansion, taken there by the absurd and unreliable magic that the latter wields. Another rescue attempt is mounted, ending in failure once again.
However, Dr. Freak stepped in, choosing to taunt the captured CPU. This sent Ishtar into a blind rage, where she eventually revealed herself to be a gray-clad CPU.
Easily destroying the doctor's robots, she swiftly beat him down... Only to find that he was merely a robot decoy. Further enraged, she wrecked half the mansion and nearly killed Noire, Chen, and a recon party led by Nepgear.
Thanks to a very timely tazing, Ishtar returned to her normal self.
Escaping from the mansion, Nepgear's recon team managed to come away with the data needed to return Noire and Chen to their bodies, but not much else.
Carlo, however, overheard some extremely important information from one of CG's goons. They would attack Lowee within the week.
On top of that, the reinvigorated Ishtar had made her way through the basilicom's guard barracks and had taken many supplies... Including a weapon. Mistaken for an assassin, Nepgear, Noire, and a handful of guards give chase.
Another of CG's ranks, Linda, reveals herself to have infiltrated Lowee's guard, along with several nameless grunts! They turn their guns on the loyal guards, and Linda seriously injures Nepgear as "payback" for her defeats back when she was with ASIC.
Ishtar and Linda both got away...
With little time to prepare, Planeptune's candidate tirelessly worked away on a huge share cannon despite her injuries. A last ditch effort to defend the city from Celestia's Gate...
The time is upon us. The calm before the horrible storm. Let slip the dogoos of war.
The story continues...
It happened in the dead of night. Explosions and gunfire on the outskirts of the city, quickly spreading inward. Lowee's own military turning on itself, with CG traitors as high ranked as Captains and even Admirals.
On the ground, cutting her way through allied troops, Mutou, the Grand General herself. Even against entire battalions, she was untouchable. Lowee's military brought out the heavy artillery, but to no avail. The masked woman simply rained meteors upon them. Even the Empress' second hand commanded overwhelming power.
Even so, Lowee would not go down without a fight...
Noire sighs as she looks out from Lowee's basilicom into the fighting and destruction in the city.
"They're already halfway here..."
She turned around to face a group of adventurers(@everyone). Their numbers were less than when they boarded the dreadnought... Probably because more than half of them were with CG back then.
"Although it looks hopeless right now, we do have a secret weapon. That's where you all come in."
Noire pointed to the ceiling.
"On the top floor of the basilicom is our ace in the whole, the share cannon. When the time is right, we'll fire it at their ranks and decimate their forces in a single blow. With that, our troops will be able to swoop in and clean up the leftovers. I'd wager it'll even fry that masked creep. Turning the tide of this war never sounded so simple, right? Well, there's a catch... It's not ready, yet."
She frowned, glancing outside again, the CG forces slowly advancing towards their location.
"It'll take some time to charge. Even with sufficient shares, it still needs to be converted into a usable form. We're not sure if it'll be ready before they arrive. If they get to that cannon before it's ready... That'll be the end of Lowee. Maybe even the end of all the nations. Reinforcements from Lastation are on the way, but they won't make it here before Celestia's Gate is at our doorstep. All of you, you're our only hope of saving Lowee. Blanc's sisters are here, too, of course. Vert and I will be out in the city, delaying their advances as much as we can. If any of you need weapons, Uni..."
Uni stood there to the side, with a small cache of weapons, mostly rifles. She wasn't paying too much attention to Noire's briefing, though. She was staring down at the ground, worry written all over her face.
"...Uni? What's wrong? Come on, you need to focus here. Gamindustri's depending on us."
"Ugh... Yeah, but... We couldn't get the sick and injured out in time! I-I'm not worried about Nepgear or anything...! I-If CG were to waltz in and kill her in her weakened state, I wouldn't care at all!"
Noire walked over to her sister and placed her hand on her shoulder.
"Uni, look at me."
Uni looked up to see her big sister smiling at her.
"It's okay... We'll take care of her, alright?"
Noire turned back to the adventurers.
"I'll need a pair of you to accompany my sister and protect Planeptune's CPU candidate."
She looked back at Uni.
"It's your responsibility, got it?"
Uni breathed a sigh or relief and smiled.
"Yeah... I-If those are your orders, I guess I have no choice."
"Alright, enough dillydallying! Everyone, arm yourselves and prepare for battle!"
Noire transformed into her HDD, and Uni soon after. They would wait for the adventurers to step forward and ready themselves...
In an underground bunker on the outskirts of Lowee, the military has just flat out handed over control to CG's forces. A man in fancy military dress stands to greet them.
"General Backstabbington, at yer service!" He says with a salute.
"Yer ship's just through the hall. She ain't no Dreadnought, but she'll still do the job and then some. They'll never see it coming."
Just what was he referring to? And what kind of name is Backstabbington? We'll soon find out the answer to one of these questions... Probably.
