(Given that RPGe didn't react to the distinctive cursing/swearing, I guess its my cue to do so)
Carlo stopped. The fleeing cultists and other assorted scum were all around them making all sorts of noise, but... just beyond a corner ahead he heard... — "That voice... I think it is her, let's go, quick!" — he rounded the corner quick, from the further edge to avoid bumping into anyone. (I think this is a corner to the right)
It had to be Blanc!
By and large, if some gormless fool says it can't be done - then that is where the variant scum will charge right in. – ShadowHM
TFW, the sole person to react to Ubel's blood attack was Chen. Well, given such, Tos' summoned swords did naught — the red haired man's blood wave hindered them, causing the swords to miss their target.
Ubel responded to Mutou's flustered remark. "Like I haven't—" And that there was when Rom shot out them magick icicles at the two. Ubel reacted of course, to avoid them but, be It his hand, or the masked girl... one of the two slipped — and one can guess what that led to. "Yeah.... *cough* That wasn't intentional." The red haired man re-positioned his hand, or Mutou, whichever, and looked over his shoulder (i imagine still running towards the bunker). "....Just one followed after us? I'm a little disappointed here." ... "*clicked his tongue* And a kid no less too — such a hassle. H'oi. Ya can deal with her, right?" As In... while still being carried (or..... Mutou could opt to be let down).
As for the two reaching the bunker and where at It, I'll leave that to the other writer...
As the two ran into the room where Blanc was held, they were greeted with her frightful scowl...
Trapped under a plastic laundry basket, with a stack of books on top to weigh it down. Ignoring the question of why she couldn't free herself from this set-up, one thing was clear. It was a set-up made with extreme haste. "...You can't be serious." RPGe said, mostly in disbelief... But also snickering just a bit.
"SHUT YOUR HOLE! IF I WERE AT FULL POWER I'D--"
"I had a feeling it'd be this way..." RPGe sighed. "...Aaaaaaaaaand that's why you're here. You can handle a little kicking and screaming, right?" She turned to Carlo as she said this.
"W-What the hell are you...?!"
Blanc stepped back within her basket cage, eyes widened. Hard to say what was going through her head at the moment, but it probably wasn't anything pleasant. She probably didn't quite recognize Carlo either, in her frenzy. Or at the very least not remember that he wasn't with CG.
A girlish yelp from the masked lady, as she felt her servant's hand touch her bottom. She promptly smacked him in the back of the head with the heavy, ancient tome she'd been carrying with her.
"Jerk! You totally did that on purpose! Pervert! Creep! Lecher!"
Grunts and yelps of pain could be heard from the book itself, presumably belonging to Histoire.
"Stop! You're hurting her...!" Rom called out helplessly.
Mutou picked up on her concern almost immediately.
"...Oh? Actually, Ubel, I think I have this."
She freed herself from Ubel's grasp and stood in front of Rom, opening the book. Histoire popped out as soon as it was opened, but Mutou expected this. She grabbed her by the neck and passed her to Ubel. "Keep her restrained."
She said that without looking away from the book. She appeared to be reading intently, flipping through several pages while Rom looked on with apprehension.
Histoire decided to break the silence. It was a mistake.
"What do you intend to gain from--"
The sound of very old paper being ripped. Histoire winced. "...Oh? As I thought, then." Mutou said, glancing at Histoire.
She'd ripped out a page from Histoire.
"S-Stop... Stop that!" Rom demanded, her courage starting to leave her.
"It's almost like plucking the wings off a fly."
She ripped out another page, this time more slowly. Histoire gasped and winced once more. She was clearly trying to stop herself from screaming.
"...You know, this book is pretty thick and sturdy. Might make a decent shield!"
Rom froze in place, frowning. She had her wand raised, ready to cast some kind of spell in retaliation. She hated the prospect of standing there and doing nothing while this went on, after all.
But Mutou had taken notice. It was dead obvious that Histoire turned into a little hostage at this point.
"Rom, forget about me! It's more important that you stop them!" "Such heroic nonsense. Ubel, keep her quiet."
As it turns out, this little hostage situation was pretty close to the bunker as it was. In fact, it was all within earshot of Ram, Vince, and probably Alex. Perhaps they might be able to surprise them...
As Alex and his dogoo continue walking, they quickly stop to a halt upon hearing people talking. Although he can't make out what's being said, he quickly turns to Vince and Ram. "Hey, does anyone else hear talking?" He quickly gets into a sneaking posture, and both he and his dogoo sneak over to the source. Upon coming across the hostage situation that's going on, the two quickly hide out of sight behind a rock, and Alex peers around to survey what's going on in more detail while he waits for the others to arrive at the scene. "(That's not good in the slightest. We're definitely going to need a plan...Hm...I think I have an idea, but I'm going to need their help for this...)" As he continues waiting for the others, he begins to mix some sort of chemicals into one of his 4 remaining empty "Bottle Bomb canisters".
The writer might as well respond to the Empress post... "Awww. Don't be like that.... You'll get wrinkles, ya know. *que the gravity* ....Huh, this' a first — the one being on their knees, that Is. Now I'm wishing I went and trained with Vegeta, that one time." (well, on one knee) Our chibi-individual wasn't the sole thing to be forced to the 'ground' — the particle-cannon barrel Vince stood atop slammed into the ground also, and the back end of It twisted up and was about to collapse on top of them too. "Wait. Wait. Wait! ....Oh right." The individual remembered they could just disperse It into nothing — and did such.
And the Empress' dictating continued. "Geez, she kinda reminds me of a certain goddess I've read about. *que the sharicite cannon activation* Ohhhh.... Beam an incoming." Our chibi-character hopped up and looked around at the aftermath. "....That. That's It? Laaaaaame. I didn't even get the chance to raise a flag with her — and she was a beaut too. Though, her personality coulda used a little work, right?"
"*rubbed the back of his head* ....H'oooooooh? I'm a pervert? Heh. How about I spiel a lil' of your interests and whatelse, huh? *smirked* And.... Ya keep squirmin' around like that, It'll happen again." ... "....Understood." When Mutou handed the Planpetune Oracle to Ubel, instead of taking hold of her with his hands, his blood twined around Histoire — binding and holding her up. Then the masked girl went on her little torture session. "H'oi. You're startin' to pant/blush. And here the ...Mutou I know was more of a masochist.... Well, whatever." More torture and taunts then, Mutou requested the red-haired man to keep Histoire from speaking out. ".........." Blood slithered over (and inside too? o3o) the Planeptune Oracle's mouth — like a gag of sorts, the writer guesses.
"....Indeed I do, unknown-old-timer! It reads like one or two damsels are In distress!" Unlike Alex, our chibi-individual didn't hide and wait, Vince ran past the white-haired person and dogoo In plain view of Ubel and Mutou — and pointed a finger at the two. "Fiend!"Vince then jumped into the air, rolled, and went to drop kick the red-haired man but... "Unhand—Ew. Ew. Ewwwwwwww! S-So. Much. BLOOOOOOOD!" Our chibi-character materialized --while stopping themself from hurling-- and flicked a jian at Mutou. "You two can take care of that one! ....Y-Yeah. I'll deal with the Char wannabe!" Then warped to and on the masked girl (be it her shoulder or atop her head). "Nahahaaa. Now then, lets see what's hiding beneath this mask, eh?" Their fingers wiggled while reaching for Mutou's mask.
*after Rom and Mutou are gone he still stands there feeling dizzy and keeps regenerating himself* ((Blanc )) (Whatever that sword was coated with it sure isn't something easy to treat my inside just feels ugh.)
*he then looks over to the others* Do we have any healers around here? I'm sure she could use one the most. *he then points towards Uni* ((Boro and whoever else is still there))
(Don't think she'll gonna make it without some healing.)
"Wow. Divinity sure is overrated here." Mina mumbled after leaving the convenient shadow of a pillar she hid behind. The bodies of Lastation's finest sure didn't look very awe inspiring sprawled on the floor.
Her absence left her enough time to reset her build: Every spell costs 5 energy unless specified otherwise
* Patient Spirit - 1/4s cast 4s recharge - Delayed heal after 2+0.4 seconds. * Word of Healing - 3/4 s cast 3s recharge - heals plus additional health (+140%ish) if target is under 50% health. * Spirit Bond - 10 energy, 1/4s cast 2s recharge - Target ally gets healed for 12% of her max health if she takes more than 10% of her max health in damage. Lasts 10 seconds, ends after healing for the tenth time. * Dismiss Condition - 1s cast 3s recharge - target ally loses a condition and gets healed by a small amount if she's under the effects of an enchantment. * Shield of Absorbption - 1s cast 5s recharge - target ally takes less and less damage each time she gets hit. * Divine Spirit - 1/4s cast 60s recharge - Monk spells cost 6 less energy for 10+2 seconds, minimum cost 1 energy. * Channeling - 1s cast 15s recharge - After casting a spell, gain 1 energy for each foe in the area. Lasts 30 seconds. * Resurrection Chant - 10 energy 6s cast 15s recharge - Half Range Spell. Resurrects target party member at your current Health and with 5...29...35% Energy.
Mina spoke (cast) the word of healing on Uni. It should help her...
— "Sorry for the wait everyone. I had to leg it all by myself without Dash or Dark Escape. Anyways I'm back to full time healing, Anyone else needs treatment?"
— "What? no, no thanks. Last time I *handled* her she almost fed me the bomb your peeps blew up." — Carlo shuddered, and had to close his eyes for a moment. It was not a nice thing to remember. Blanc could, if she paid attention, see regret in his gaze. — "and for two, I have faith in you, lady White Heart. So sit back for a bit, please, as this might not be pretty..."
He drew his Cutlass (it was noticeably longer than the pointy sword borrowed from Noire), and made two vertical cuts, plus a horizontal one, then tossed out a section of the "wall", and bowed formally — "Carlo Barbanera, at your service."
RPGe looked between the two of them, confused for a moment. Then, a tinge of red in her cheeks, just barely visible through all the hair obscuring the upper part of her face.
"I-I didn't mean anything like that! And you're still a jerk for that!"
She smacked Carlo upside the head. It felt... Weak. Hollow. Even for a squishy mage like her.
Her "cage" cut open, Blanc stepped out... Fists clenched.
"You're the last two people I wanted to see today. Whatever it is you're up to--"
"Rescuing you." RPGe interrupted her.
"...What?" "We're rescuing you."
Blanc glared at the mage. Then at Carlo. She raised an eyebrow.
"...I guess you're not one of those jackass cultists." She looked back at RPGe. "That doesn't explain why you're here, though."
"Well... Well... Ehehe, why not?" She seemed nervous.
"You condemned me to death!"
"...Would I really say something that horrible?" She said with a frown.
Blanc gave her a frown of her own.
"...Just last week." She said bitterly. "And again last night!" "Well, I changed my mind, okay?! Maybe... Maybe I just couldn't let you die! ...Or something. I don't know, I'm not on trial here!"
"You will be once I'm out of this shithole."
"Lady Blanc, please! I'm really trying to help you!" She seemed kinda hurt by the prospect.
"The hell is up with this 'Lady' crap?! It sounds disgusting coming from you!"
"You're so mean! Why are you always so mean?! Am I really so horrible to you?!" "We just went over this! Hello?! Condemning me to death ring any bells?!"
"I didn't--I told you, I changed my mind! Isn't that enough?!"
The two only continued to bicker between each other. At the very least, they act like they've spent a good week together. Not necessarily a happy one. Blanc only seemed to get more annoyed, and RPGe only seemed to get more whiny, as it all dragged on.
It's fortunate that CG is in chaos right now, otherwise they'd have caught the attention of some guards. Still, it probably wouldn't be good to stick around for too long...
"Ubel! Not in front of the enemyyyyy!"
A whine. One moment, she's torturing a book, the next she's shining like a child. And blushing hard enough to somehow be seen through her solid mask.
Histoire was gagging. Because of the blood gag. Redundancy aside, she didn't like the taste of that nasty blood. The horrified expression said enough.
And that was when a certain chibi individual decided to announce their presence.
"Oh, what is it now--Bwa?!"
It all happened so quickly. Now the chibi person was on her shoulder, reaching for her mask!
"N-No you don't! Off! Off with you! Ubel, help!"
Mutou was trying to push the individual off herself. At the very least, she wasn't letting her touch her mask.
"Leave the gross dummy to me!"
Ram waved around her wand... Nothing. Come to think of it, both her and her sister reverted back to their base forms in all the commotion.
"Huh? It's not working?!" Ram pouted. "Whatever! Charge!"
Undeterred, she ran in and started clubbing Ubel with her wand. It had a little weight to it. A stray hit might've got him where it hurts. Up to the other writer.
Rom took the opportunity to run up and snatch Histoire, the tome, back from Mutou. She clutched it to her person with all her strength.
Healing magic is quite convenient. The hole in Uni's chest, from being shot with her own gun, seemed to be patched up. She began to stir...
"Mmmn... Huh? I'm... Not dead?" She said with some mild disbelief, sitting up and feeling her chest for the wound that used to be there.
"...Noire!" She got to her feet after spotting her sister, knocked out in a pool of her own blood, riddled with cuts from her own sword.
"Don't worry, I got big sis!"
It was Butts, this time in a white robe with a red pattern on the fringe that was... Familiar. She knelt down next to Noire and placed her hand above her. It glowed with a green light, as Noire's wounds slowly disappeared.
"...Did... Did we win...?" She asked, weakly.
Butts gave her as comforting a smile as she could muster, and nodded.
"Mhmm. They're all retreating. I think we killed their leader..."
"Correct." Vert confirmed to her. "We don't have to worry about their so-called 'Empress' anymore. But..."
She fell to her knees, changing back from her HDD.
"...I could use some healing when you're done with her, please."
"H-Hey! What the hell are you doing?!-Dammit, there goes that idea!" Seeing that his idea to ambush the CG members has failed, Alex breaks out of stealth and aims at Ubel. However, as he scans his opponent more closely, he notices his ability to "blood bend", and he is of course a bit irked by that ability from a "gory" standpoint. "W-what the hell?!...." Not knowing what to make of Ubel alone, he proceeds to fire a couple rounds at him, quickly scanning around the environment for any sort of location he could use to his advantage in case they're getting into something they'll regret.
Unfortunately for RPGe and Carlo, someone had heard the bickering, it wasn't very long before two very live grenades were tossed into the room, fortunately, the only thing that came out was smoke. A lot of smoke.
Under the thick smoke cover, it wasn't hard to hear the clunking of armor. As the smoke cleared, it became possible to see the figure of Samuel, Blanc thrown over his shoulder, with a threateningly large plasma-pistol pointed directly at RPGe's forehead.
"Despite Lady Empress' unfortunate fate, I still have a prisoner to guard."
The end of the pistol was glowing, clearly some kind of charge shot ready.
- "Oh for fuck's sake..." - our pirate rolled his eyes. - "is there ANYTHING you goddesses aren't completely terrible at?! Someone of all things blows SMOKE at you and you're helpless? What would happen if your enemies actually started using a sword or something? Oh wait, the oxygen destroyer would happen. And you'd sit behind bars. Or under a laundry basket. Fuck!"
Carlo is normally a reserved pirate with a penchant for conserving his resources.
But now he throws FUCKING EVERYTHING, every scroll, every runestone, and every voodoo doll at Samuel. Shockwaves, Energy waves, Hail of Shards, Stonefists, Kiss of death spells (Life steals), and a hyper dense (2 scrolls) fire rain. Oh and the rust scrolls, charges spent on any piece of equipment that looks dangerous. I think being near him would be somewhat like being near the ground zero of a small nuclear explosion. Or a Tiltowait.
Que Vince's sudden entrance. "H'oooooh? Ya an idiot or somethin'? A surprise attack woulda been more efficient In this situation." But before the red-haired man could do whatever else, the chibi-character warped towards Mutou. "Well, whatever. ...Mutou can handle 'em. *que Mutou's plea* ....Or not. Really...? *sighed*" Just then, Ram went on the offensive, and started thwacking at Ubel (and no, no nut hits. come on man, das painful just thinking about it). " 'nother brat, huh? *clicked his tongue* ....Such a nuisance." In response, the red-haired man formed a blood tendril (i imagine Ubel's normal blood swirl is present, but not swirling. alla at a standstill) that pushed/held the tomboy Lowee candidate back — akin to when someone tall uses their hand to keep someone short from hitting them or whatnot.
About this time Is when Alex fired off a few rounds with his transformable gunsword at Ubel, and per usual, the red-haired man's blood --standstill-ed-- swirl reacted to the attack and shielded against them. "Yeah, that ain't gonna work against me, bud."Ubel would have countered but.... there was still Mutou who was flipping out. So... "....Now, as for you, pipsqueak." The red-haired man took hold of Histoire (non-tome) with his good hand --remember, he has a broken arm and some ribs (hint, hint)-- and speared the blood that once held the Planeptune Oracle at Vince.
And I'll note Ubel held Histoire via her leg, upside-down... I wager her writer knows where I'm going with this.
"Paaa-leeease~ When you're as great as me, you don't need to rely on surprise attacks, an' the like! ....And don't steal ma line(s)!!!" In response to Ubel.
Back on topic. The masked girl attempted to shake Vince. "Wawawaaa! S-Stop that! I'm getting d-dizzy here!" Our chibi-individual grabbed hold of Mutou's ear but soon released It because of Ubel's incoming blood tendrils. "S-So groooss!!! I'm totes not into TENTACLE PLAY!"Vince fled from them and materialized and flicked a flurry of exploding jians at the blood which soon were enough to reach the red-haired man himself (who'll have to guard himself against them). After. "....Whew. That was close.... *wiped their brow* Now then— *pointed at Mutou* —You! That mask's a crutch! If I focus on It, there's nothing you can do! Nahahaaa—Ta!"
In that instant Vince had materialized and flicked a flash jian at Mutou — and like Its name suggests, the jian exploded In a similar fashion as a flash grenade would.
"Like so!" But that flick wasn't all that was to that attack, right behind the flash jian was a second jian which was aimed at Mutou's mask — will It knock the mask off, split It In Its center and cause It to fall, or nothing at all? Whatever the case, the writer's sure Mutou won't be pleased. And with that done, our chibi-character turned to Rom. "Second mini goddess! Take that tome an' flee! If I'm right on who that Is.... *Histoire* ....When there's enough distance between the two, they'll teleport together! *que a suave smile* Believe In me!"
And a little after Rom complies (if done), Vince placed a finger to their lip. "Though.... Which part'll teleport to which.... I forget. ....Oh. She's gone."
Alex looks in surprise upon seeing the blood shield Ubel from his bullet, and his reaction is a bit of confusion/surprise and anger. "Oh come on!" Upon realizing that gunfire is not going to do much, he aims for a more close-ranged approach, especially upon seeing an opening arise. "(Dammit, I gotta risk it!)" He rushes towards Ubel while he's busy with Vince and, after momentarily vanishing into a current of lightning, reappears in front of him, preparing to slash at him with his gunsword.
Oddly enough, RPGe didn't even flinch when she found the barrel of Samuel's gun in her face.
Whatever she was about to say, was interrupted by Carlo's unrelenting assault of spells.
"You jerk! You'll hurt Lady Blanc like that!"
"...That's still disgusting coming from you!" Blanc said, still slung over the hulking man's shoulder.
"You're not helping!"
While Carlo continued his barrage, RPGe pulled out her book of spells. She frantically flipped through its pages.
"No, this one would be overkill..." She muttered to herself while turning one page.
"Aha!" She pointed to one particular passage, read it over once more, then closed her book and stashed it away again.
"Close your eyes! Look away! Something!" She barked at Carlo, before holding her hands up in front of either side of her face.
Solar Flare. A blinding flash of light came from the girl, bright enough to light up the entire room and well into the corridor outside. Samuel would be momentarily blinded, as well as Carlo, if he did not heed her words.
Taking advantage of this, she helped Blanc down and the two split.
They were barely around the corner before the mage stopped, untying her cloak from herself. It could finally be seen that her clothes were just a bit different, she was wearing a full pair of jeans and a pair of gloves. Perhaps because it's so cold at the capital? "Take this." She said, shoving it in Blanc's hands. "If you're too weak to fight, wear this. No one'll recognize you in it."
Blanc looked at the cloak with disgust. It was basically the "uniform" of the cultists, after all.
"...I'm not putting this on." She said, with her trademark pout.
"...Look, I know how you must feel. Believe me... I do. But you have to get out of here alive. You have your sisters... Your entire nation, waiting for you out there. Just go!"
She pushed Blanc into a run.
"I'll make sure the big guy can't follow you! Just get outside!"
"Ugh! Fine, I'll wear it! But you're mistaken if you think these half-assed heroics will make me change my mind. You hear me?! I'm still gonna put your ass on trial when this is over!" She yelled back to the pink haired mage, as she finally donned the cloak and ran.
It seemed she'd make sure the two would meet again, probably.
For now, though, RPGe placed herself back in the corridor outside the room Samuel and Carlo are in. She stood as conspicuously as she could, if he were to turn and give chase. He'd have to get through her.
Ram flailed, being held back. Being the little kid she is, though, she knew exactly what to do in this situation... She ducked under Ubel's blood!
Then, she gave him a good whack in the ribs for his trouble.
"Take that, dummy!" She said, almost playfully.
Then suddenly, a huge chunk of the moon is blown to pieces. Catching Mutou's attention, she instinctively looked up to watch the damage.
"...I feel like I'm only doing this because it's owed to someone."
Nope, the writer definitely doesn't feel bad for any past mistakes. Nope.
The jian hit its mark, and Mutou's mask went flying, spinning through the air!
Is this it? Will the mystery lady's identity be revealed?!
"N-No! It's way too early in the plot for that!"
She covered her face with the pages she'd torn from Histoire. She was hunched over on the ground, blindly feeling around for her mask. Totally vulnerable.
"Y-You're lucky I'm out of MP!"
Meanwhile, Rom was frozen, still clutching Histoire the tome as tightly as she could. She wasn't sure if she could trust the chibi stranger.
It took some encouragement from Histoire herself to sway her.
"Rom, it's okay! As long as the book is intact, I should be okay! Just get out of here and save yourself!"
She was holding her skirt in place and trying to kick Ubel with her free leg while she said this. "O-Okay... Okay, I'll run! Please be okay, Histoire!"
And that would be the last we see of Rom for this scene. She never let go of that book.
The blood tendrils receded back (some blood perished in the explosions) while Vince continued to flick explosive jian's at them — enough so the red-haired man took a few hits (course don't forget the blood swirl and all) at the end (the writer imagines he turned his shoulder to the blasts). "....Damn Pipsqueak."
His coat alight, Ubel brushed the flames off with his free hand, but was soon face-to-face with Alex. "*clicked his tongue* H'uuuuuh? Ya forget I'm holdin' a hostage, or somethin'? Well, whatever." The red-haired man raised Histoire (humanoid) up to take the oncoming blow but.... the Planeptune Oracle soon vanished from his grip— "........ *cheek twitch*" —and Alex gashed Ubel's hand. Though, a simple slash wouldn't be enough to deter Ubel, and sent an spartan kick to Alex's torso In return.
"Outta MP, eh? How unfortunate.... Not that I know what that feels like." =w=
We'll continue with Mutou on her knees (hue) searching for her mask. "....I know this' an opportune time to attack an' all but, this sight Is just too cute — like when a clumsy girl drops her glasses." Then sometime around when Chayse arrived on scene, Histoire (humanoid) vanished. "Huh. That tidbit turned out to be legit. *swooped their hair* I mean, of course It was! Nahaha! Twas intel Pad gathered herself after all. Oh. And... It looks like a new challenger's arrived on the field too." And upon seeing the blonde loli take a stance, Vince folded their arms then thought aloud (maybe placed a hand under their chin too). "Hmmmm. What. To. Do. What. To. Do.... I could continue fighting buuuut, we've taken back the pandit tome. And, two outta three of them are In no shape to continue, and where's the fun In that, right? ....Pluuuus I'd rather not risk having to deal with him, his abilities are totes gross — and.... ma writer's not keen with his characters fighting each other."
Then pointed a finger In the air.
"Soooooo. Time.... To.... Run! *began to turn but stopped* ....Though. It wouldn't be right not to leave a parting gift, huh?" With that said, our chibi-individual materialize a jian and chucked It above Mutou and Chayse that then increased In size -214cm give or take-- as It fell, spearing the ground near the two (well, three. i doubt Ubel's that far off) — which stood up with a tilt. "Have fuuuuun with that, I'm sure It'll be a blast! Or not.... Who knows?!" And... Vince scampered off --but not before making visual contact with Ram (like. "time to go now")-- at full speed In the same direction Rom had gone prior. "........" But, soon returned and shouted at Alex. "Right. I almost forgot.... Unknown Old Timer! You totes should run too! ....Or don't. *scampers off again* ....Gotta go fast!" And tripped, but got up and continued on running.
Will the large jian explode? Will It be a giant flash bang? Or.... A total dud?
– "Stupid children playing soldier with their stupid toy armor, stupid energy and stupid berserker mode..." – Carlo growled, as he got himself up from the floor, and shook pieces of mortar out of his jacket. – "Back in the old days, if you needed a berserker pack, you had to find one!" – he shouted, and spat out some blood too. He was disoriented a bit, but it wasn't functionally different from a soul eater or shadow guardian knocking him over.
He slowly but surely made his way towards Samuel, and picked up a crowbar along the way... Now, fireball in one hand and crowbar in the other he eiher looked like some medieval undead on a quest, or a plumber-in-a-can (remember, he has his armor on.)
– "And you too!" – Mina healed Tos too, and sprinkled more along the lines left and right, wherever anyone was below full. – "what now?" – she asked upon finishing. She needed to recharge her energy... Tosmasta00 and everyone else at that point.
*after he has gotten healed he speaks to Mina* ((Boro)) Thanks. Well i would have said follow after the girl that took Histoire but i'm sure they now are too far away to follow so all we can do now is wait.
Might controls everything, and without strength you cannot protect anything, let alone yourself. Vergil DMC3
"Whoa, that is some...perfect timing considering I actually somehow managed to forget about him holding her- W-Whoa!" As Alex talks to himself, he notices Ubel's spartan kick and lightning dodges away from it, stumbling a bit as he reforms. "Yeesh...I really should stop doing that so often...Right, time to see what the situation currently i-" Alex is cut short when a newcomer suddenly appears and helps out Mutou. As she gets into a fighting stance, he breathes a sigh as he grabs ahold of his gunsword. "Annnnnd of course there's another one. (If it turns out there's a giant or something coming too then I am done...) ....Well, it's three against three, so although we lost both our size and stealth advantages, we still have a cha-" Alex's attention is soon shifted as he notices that everyone else have already left, him having not noticed until now. Upon realizing that he is alone, he rapidly looks at the three members of CG, his now worried dogoo in hiding, and a nearby path out of the area beside the silver dogoo. "....I-I UH-HAVE TO GO WATER MY DOGOO AND WALK MY PLANTS!!!" Alex then sheathes his gunsword and bolts like a bat outta hell away from the situation, grabbing ahold of his dogoo as he flees. Although two of the three were wounded, there was no telling if they were easily able to be taken out as a result or not, and there was no way of knowing if more would show up...
With a swift, hard punch in the gut. Immeasurably harder than such a tiny mage should ever be able to do. A few chipped pieces of the hulking man's now cracked armor flew off from the blow.
But it wasn't her punch that had cracked his sturdy armor. The tiny mage had simultaneously cast two spells that worked perfectly with each other. The first, Off-Guard, had weakened Samuel's armor, causing various cracks.
The second, actually, was the punch itself. A special technique learned from Goblins. Even a weakling like RPGe was able to hit with tremendous force, under the right conditions.
Of course, this little display of hers left her totally open to whatever retaliation the hulking general might dish out. She didn't seem bothered by that prospect, oddly enough.
Pages went flying as Mutou fumbled to catch the mask tossed to her. She seemed like the type who could never catch a ball in gym class.
Thankfully, no one caught a glance at her face. It's still too early for that, after all.
"Excellent save, Chayse." She said, calmly affixing the mask to herself once more. Or, trying to appear calm, anyways. "I owe you a drink after... This?"
Her voice took on a perplexed tone as she watched Ram, the last of their foes, turn tail and run.
"Bye-bye!" She said, making an akanbe gesture at the masked lady and her cohorts as she fled.
"Where are they..." Mutou started to say, under her breath. Then she caught sight of the huge jian that may or may not explode any moment now.
She hastily snatched up the torn pages that had previously been thrown up.
Now It's around time this writer wrote about said enormous jian (changed its description. it's around 7ft after all), huh? Here. We. Go! The intricate etchings throughout the jian (check original Vince's image) started to glow and......... MUSIC began to resound outta the enormous jian.
Samuel stumbled back from the punch, already standing at full height again, he grabbed RPGe by the neck roughly, his red glow fading, he lifted her off the ground, and his grip showed he had no plans to let her get out on her own, a massive double barreled shotgun seemed to materialize in his free hand, likely from some inventory.
"Listen, little brat. You got four seconds to start leading me to the prisoner, or your head comes off."
He wasn't lying, both barrels of the shotgun were already pushing underneath the girl's chin.
Chayse was, stunned to actually hear gratitude from Mutou, so she didn't really notice the large jian until it started playing music.
"Oi', Mutou, you allergic to Beethoven or something?"
The snide remark was short lived.
"Looks like both sides of the battle took pretty big losses... Sigh... Yeah, let's roll outta here."
She started following Mutou casually.
(Mostly) Blanc I got no idea who else to tag, 'cept maybe Boro , anyone else will probably see this anyway, so reply however.
Mutou stood there in silence, staring at the jian that made that unholy music play. If her face could be seen, surely it would have disgust and annoyance written all over it.
Finally, she approached the jian and picked it up. This would be a horrible(but hilarious) time for it to explode. I'll leave that up to the other writer.
If it doesn't explode, she'll chuck it as far away as she can in rage.
Regardless of the outcome, a small girl covered in a black cloak cautiously emerged from the bunker door. She froze as soon as she spotted Mutou and the others.
Of course, she froze because she was, obvious to the reader, the CPU Blanc in somewhat of a disguise.
She wouldn't be recognized by any of them, however. Probably.
Blanc tried to slowly walk past them, resisting the temptation to pick up a piece of debris and give one of them a good whack in the head. Her strength had yet to return to her...
RPGe tried to stay cool, but that was difficult with a double-barreled shotgun pressing against her chin. The man holding her could probably feel her breathing speed up from fear.
"So you want me to squeal..."
She glanced down at the spellbook she dropped when Samuel had taken hold of her. "Alright, I'll do better than that. I'll sing for you." She smirked as she spoke.
Then, she literally sang. She sang an unspeakably horrible song, something that this writer is pretty sure was explicitly outlawed by whatever Geneva Convention equivalent exists in Gamindustri.
"Hey!" She shouted over to Carlo, the song somehow continuing from an unknown chorus, even without her notably off-key contributions. "I'm pretty sure it won't affect party members, but ya might wanna cover your ears anyways!"
Samuel's shotgun would start to get heavier. Then, the tiny mage would start to appear larger... Along with the rest of the corridor. It was slow, but he was starting to shrink.
At this point, he could either shoot the pink haired girl and probably shrink even more, or he could let go of her in order to cover his ears.
Rom had ran until she exhausted herself. Thankfully, it got her back towards the basilicom, where shell fell to her knees, gasping for breath and clutching Histoire's tome for dear life. She thought she might have been chased, after all.
After a minute or two to catch her breath, the sound of Histoire's muffled voice caught her attention.
"...D-Did it work?" She said cautiously, turning open the tome.
Histoire emerged with a poof. "Rom, you saved me!" The oracle said with a smile, hugging the candidate's neck with her tiny arms.
"...Thank goodness." Rom responded, sounding like her usual calm self for the first time since the battle had started. "You're not... Hurt, are you?"
"No, Rom, I'm alright now. But..." The smile faded from Histoire's face.
"...But?" Rom grew concerned.
"Don't worry about it right now. Just some... Business on my mind. I'll worry about it later." Histoire smiled again, trying to reassure her. The "business" she was alluding to would be the pages torn out from her tome...
"Okay... Um... Hey... Where's Ram?" "Huh? I thought she was following us? Though, I couldn't see..."
That's a very good question. It seems Ram got distracted somewhere along the way between the bunker and the basilicom.
She was pacing around in the snow, constantly switching from HDD to her base form as she paced back and forth.
"HDD!" She said, transforming as she stepped closer towards the basilicom's direction.
"Normal old Ram!" She said, stumbling a bit towards the bunker's direction.
She continued like that. She seemed to be having fun with it.
"Wait. Where am I? ....A—Am I lost!? *looked about* Of course not, I'm just unfamiliar with this place! Umu. *nodded to themself* ....Heh, least the writer didn't give me some weird glitch like with V — where I'd end up teleporting to random places at random times, an' all." ... "Now then.... Where do I go fro—Hold that thought me!" Our chibi-individual materialized a jian and flicked It back In the direction they had came from. And... be It while Mutou still held the enormous jian or had just chunked It, the flicked jian appeared and tapped the enormous one with a *tink* — and as one would guess, the jians explodededededededed. "Nyahaha! Ida loved to have taken a pic of their faces right now! ....But another time. Now, where was I? Right."
Carlo took this opportunity to ... cover his ears. Well, what can you do when you don't want to shrink? Okay you also throw the crowbar and the fireball at a certain doomed space marine. Screw that guy! Once the song finishes he's toast! literally
Samuel wasn't so stupid, the second he noticed the song's effect, his suit instantly activated a defense system, blocking out the song from him. (And assumingly reversing it via some kind of magic ventilation system)
"You two are pathetic." Another gun formed in his hand, shooting a burst of electricity, stunning Carlo.
"I warned you, brat."
Samuel pulled the trigger of the shotgun, both barrels unloading directly at RPGe's face. Absorbing Carlo's attack effortlessly with his back, Samuel turned around, the visor would block sight of it, but you could tell he was glaring.
"You've gotta be kidding!" RPGe said, outrage in her voice. This writer wonders if the space marine can still hear at this point.
She hastily dug through the pockets of her hoodie, her breathing becoming more rapid as she stared at the trigger. She braced herself as she watched him pull the trigger that would surely end her life.
As pure luck would have it, just before he pulled the trigger, a light fixture above the two simply... Fell. And hit Samuel's hand just as he was to fire. The shotgun blast just barely missed her as a result.
What suspiciously good fortune.
RPGe sighed with relief, and soon she regained her composure.
"...That's right. We can't afford to die here. Not to filth like you."
She dug through the pockets of her hoodie again, pulling out...
An old oil lamp. The kind you'd see in stories about genies. In fact, she even began to rub it like in those very stories! "It's a waste on you, but it's not like you're giving me much of a choice. Here's hoping that pervert over there won't get buried in rubble..."
Smoke billowed out from the lamp, quickly filling up the entire corridor... And then some. Something big was coming...
Mutou had just thrown the jian when it exploded. So, no lost hands for the moment... But it did blow her back into the bunker door.
The "disguised" Blanc took the opportunity to make a break for it in the basilicom's direction when it happened.
"Ow..." Mutou groaned. "Next time I see that little jerk, I'll... Eh? Where's she running off to in a hurry? A little help would have been nice... Worthless!"
By pure coincidence, that's when what was left of the bunker started to rumble. The smoke that had been filling up the area where Samuel had been fighting a pair of intruders had taken form, and it was much too large to be contained by the bunker's corridors.
What was left of the bunker had burst open, with a huge black dragon roaring in its wake while rubble and debris rain down around the area.
Conveniently, a big dragon spawning right between Samuel and the tiny mage was more than enough to free the latter from the former's grasp.
Back outside of the bunker's remains, Mutou got herself up and looked up at what had just happened. Her face may be obscured, but surely she had an expression of shock beneath that mask of hers.
"...And just like that, my carefully laid out escape route is gone!"
The masked woman found herself kicking the ground with frustration. A stray piece of rubble hit her in the head it fell.
"Ouch! Alright, that's it! We're done! I'm done! This whole thing was a mess! If anyone needs me, I'll be in the next chapter!"
She rushed herself out of this very thread as fast as she could.
Noire raised an eyebrow at the news. "...Shouldn't you let them in, then? I'd expect this incompetence from Planeptune--"
"Never mind any of that, Noire. Come, we'll give them a warm welcome ourselves!"
Vert had a certain twinkle in her eye as she said that. It was obvious to everyone present that she had ulterior motives. "Sounds like the N-chan rumors were true, then." Butts commented, with her tongue playfully stuck out. "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that."
By the time they got outside to greet Rom and Histoire, Ram had caught up with the two of them.
"Phew! We sure showed those dummies, huh Rom?"
"But... Blanc is still..." "...Yeah..."
The twin candidates both sighed.
((For clarification, the dragon mentioned in the other part of my post was not large enough to be seen from the basilicom.))
