I think the censored version lost them more sales than the addition of Germany and Sweeden ect added to be honest not including those who would import anyway. Especially on something niche like this.
And considering online retailers such as funstock are EU retailers there is no extra effort than getting it from Amazon for your country. Though i think this one was digital anyway.
It will good to play as the DLC characters you could of played as, by Re;Birth 2 there will no character who you would of missed using if you hadn't bought any DLC.
(RED, Cave, Falcom and Victory Chars)

Progressed about halfway into chapter 7. While the group is plotting the next move, they got reports that copies of the goddesses are attacking and destroying certain specific locations in the four continents. Considering Magiquone is already powerful as it is with Yunimites, IF quickly realizes she's looking for something: the weapons of the heroes that defeated the original goddess. Since they have no clue where the weapons are (and Histoire would take three days to find that information) they split up and follow the copies, hoping to get the weapons before them. Neptune (who has refused to regain her memories because she doesn't want to remember all the fighting she had with the other goddesses) is supposed to stay into Compa's house since she can't transform, but she goes anyway, with Compa and IF. In Planeptune, they get to the processing plant the fake Purple Heart has been targeting, looking for MAGES. and Marvelous. The find the copy instead, but Falcom comes to the rescue. They are reunited with MAGES. and Marvelous shortly afterwards. After disposing of the copy (and there's a recurring gag in which IF is happy to beat the heck out of the fake Purple Heart to remove some of the stress she has from being with Neptune), they look around but never find the weapon...because it was in the church to begin with. Sadly it's badly damaged, and also the staff there refuses to lend it since it's a national treasure. MAGES., Falcom and Marvelous stay behind to protect it, while Neptune and the others move to another continent. In Lastation, they join Noire (who is kind of happy that Neptune came, though she doesn't say it out loud). While discussing which kind of weapon the Lastation treasure is, there's a nice jab at the Domination ending of Mk2: Noire thinks it's a "sacred sword" or something like that, Neptune instead thinks it's a cursed weapon that becomes stronger the more goddesses are killed with it and ends with "Its name is Geha...." before getting slapped by Noire saying people are still traumatized by that thing. The find the copy soon afterwards, and Noire is saved by a surprise attack by CC2, who has come to the rescue. After defeating the copy, it explodes, damaging the weapon. They decide to bring it to Cyan to see if it can be fixed.

well it still would have gotten flagged by the ESRB once it went in for proper review there really is no question about that if the Japanese trailer can be pulled from youtube it really speaks for itself. It would have passed for M, in all likelihood. Games with similar or worse content have passed for M.

Maybe a thread for monster monpiece should be made so these post can be moved out of the Rebirth thread?
But i would like to say i was disappointed that Rafflesia, Pegasus, Fia, Tengu and Phantom were part of the list especially as they don't look loli or anything to me.

!st Gen Compa has special moves based on Puyo Puyo(Compile's most famous game in Japan). The licensing issue is that Sega owns the rights to Puyo Puyo.

It would have passed for M, in all likelihood. Games with similar or worse content have passed for M. when it applies to characters who appear underage as is the case here the line becomes a lot blurrier. Americans are far more prudish about sexual content than violent content this goes triple for the ESRB. But that's what I'm saying. ESRB doesn't give a flip. Check the first few minutes. The loli wasn't cut from the NA version, but had to be cut from the EU version.
PEGI gives a flip.

Almost finished Chapter 7. ]Back in Lastation Cyan says the weapon is basically broken beyond belief, not to mention is way too old to be of any use. However, it is possible to use what is left of it and make a new weapon. Noire stays behind with CC2 to oversee the operations, and Neptune moves on to the next continent. In Leanbox, Vert found the weapon already (the bow) but it's so big and ruined she can't use it. Ranran (who is actually an engineer) offers to create a weapon that Vert can use out of it, so the group goes to get some materials needed. The fake Green Heart is around, but she's supposedly kept in check by the perverted brothers....who actually switched sides again and are escorting her around. Vert is not happy by this, and confronts them and her copy, who attacks her immediately, before she can even transform. Tekken, who has joined earlier, works as a human shield (considering she likes the idea...) while Vert transforms. After defeating the copy, the two brothers try to sneak away...But are caught and punished by being locked in a room and forced to play BL games. Vert and Tekken work with Ranran on the the weapon, so Neptune & co. move to Lowee. There, they found themselves in a sort of problematic situation. Both Blanc and the copy have reverted to their normal forms after a lot of fighting so there's no way to distinguish them (even Financier, who boast she has worked a long time with Blanc, embarasses herself when she can't say who is the original). The group (after hearing Broccoli's suggestion - she was just passing by when she saw the commotion) comes up with the idea to asks Blanc some personal questions, such as, her sizes, her dojin works (and IF, commenting Blanc's stories, shows her Chuunibyo side) and so on. The original is too embarassed to reply, while the copy responds flawlessly. After a bit Blanc snaps and starts raging...being recognized as the real one by the citizens of Lowee. Her deception exposed, the copy flees to the dungeon below the church, where the legendary weapon is treasured. After destroying the copy, the group finally finds the legendary spear...only it's a hammer now. Due to some complicated circumstances, the weapon ended up being reforged as a hammer. After some more bantering (including Blanc's plans to have another dojin for the upcoming conventions) the group reunites in Planeptune. Histoire isn't really happy about what happened to the weapons (which ended up with completely different forms - and are now usable by the corresponding goddesses, I have to add), but thinks it's ok anyway. Since Neptune couldn't get hers, Histoire says they'll have to deal with three. In that precise moment Yunimites and Magiquone arrive in Planeptune. Magiquone calls herself the new god, and proclaims Yunimites killed Purple Heart. The group rushes outside and fights Yunimites, defeating it. Magiquone is clearly shocked by this and wonder why this is happening. Each goddess reminds her that this is happening thanks to the strength of their citizens who believe in them more than a Demon Lord (and, in Vert's case, there is also some net manipulation, creating online support groups for the goddesses and flaming the Yunimites online groups... All of this done by the perverted brothers). Magiquone retorts that as long as people believe in Yunimites it can't be stopped. As the monster rises again, the entire group encourages Neptune to reveal herself to her citizens. She botches it terribly (with a stupid announcement followed by some bantering with IF)...But that reminds the inhabitants of Planeptune of their goddess. The shares then start resonating with all the goddesses (Neptune include), and Histoire explains the situation is reverting to pre-war status. Also, the faith of the citizens restores Neptune's power, who becomes a new goddess (and her Purple Heart outfit changes from the original to V's one). Neptune transforms and the group attacks Yunimites again.

Completed chapter 7 and suspended at the beginning of chapter 8. After defeating Yunimites, Magiquone can't hide her shock, though she tries to hide it by taunting the goddesses, saying they just killed a fake monster. As Purple Heart goes to confront Magiquone, Histoire points out that it's different from what Magiquone is saying: the goddesses have changed, shifting from "assigned to guard over the continents" to "protect the citizens and the land" by their own will (basically they care about their own countries now). Neptune had the most visible change, but the others changed as well. Neptune charges Magiquone, but her sword breaks against her since it's not one of the hero weapons. As Noire, Vert and Blanc prepare to support Neptune, Magiquone flees, stating that nothing really changed. Later, she is seen plotting the destruction of the world despite what happened... Also, I forgot a couple interesting references during Blanc's part in chapter 7: Lowee's weapon, a spear, became a hammer for two reasons:
- First of all, it was so ruined due to the passage of time that is basically worthless; - Lowee's citizens then decided to remodel it as a hammer since "the two plumbers with moustaches" were coming - a reference to Donkey Kong, aside the Mario franchise in general.
Later Blanc says that using the hammer will make Magiquone "turn into light", a reference to the Goldion Hammer from Yusha Oo Gaogaigar, also present in the name of the hammer itself - Golden Hammer, and in the aforementioned series the hammer is called Goldion Hammer.

Events cleared, final dungeon unlocked, time to finish setting shares up before going. After the previous events, the goddesses have lunch in Compa's house, only to start arguing over an absurd matter, namely if you can put lemon on fried dishes (Karaage is what they're referring to). Blanc vehemently opposes the idea, while Vert and Noire say it gives a better taste. As for Neptune, as long as it's good she doesn't mind...But her middle stance angers both parties, and IF jokes that another war will begin.
After resolving the issue, the current topic shifts on where Magiquone could be located. Neither IF nor Isun have managed to track her down. Shortly afterwards Magiquone announces herself saying she'll bring the world to ruin, and using the power she accumulated, she causes tremors on all the continents.
Isun deduces Magiquone is hiding in Tenkai (Celestia in the the NISA version), so leads the group to the nearest teleporter, inside Planeptune's church. It's extremely small, so people have to stay extremely close, with some unwanted results (IF sticks her head in Vert's chest, and loses any semblance of rational thought). However, the teleporter doesn't work, as it's been locked.
The only other option is using the four legendary weapons to open a path to Tenkai like the four heroes did in the past. Neptune gets her own legendary weapon (which has changed form like the others) and the group heads to the location where the four heroes opened a path to Tenkai. There, despite blatanly ignoring Histoire's orders, they manage to open the path and head to the final confrontation against Magiquone.
I unlocked Nepgear as well, I can probably unlock another candidate, but since I don't like share manipulation that much as it's boring, I may just set the requirements for the True Ending and go on.

quick question regarding a boss fight in this game, early on you fight Noire. Are you supposed to win the fight since i can barely damage her and she pretty much oneshots IF and Compa.

The only scripted fight sequences I recall are against other enemies, but I won't spoil more. IIRC, that fight isn't scripted.

The Noire fights were mostly annoying. I'm surprised in my recent run in the game, I managed to beat the 1v1 Noire battle on my first try. On my other playthrough, it took me an hour to take her down.

And I'm done. True End completed, total clear time around 50 hours. Final synopsis and overall impressions in a few hours, but the general idea is: the game is bad, but if you're a fan of the series, you may want to see the story which is improved in every way from the original.

Ok, time to go in depth.
Once in Tenkai, the whole group confronts Magiquone. She taunts every goddess - in a similar way she did in the original - but each of them reply saying how they've overcome their own issues. Histoire tries to make Magiquone reason, but she doesn't listen (and Neptune notices Histoire seems sad about it).
The group easily defeats Magiquone, but she refuses to acknowledge it. She then absorbs more power, coming from the fear of destruction of the people living on the continents (in the original, she instead got more power due to people believing in Yunimites), and transforms in a dragon.
The group is a bit shocked by this, but then Purple Heart says that while it's true and normal that there are people that fear a possible destruction of the world, there are far more that placed their faith in the goddesses. With that said, the group figths again Magiquone.
After the battle, the goddesses are so tired they can't even move (save for Neptune), and they watch as Magiquone's body slowly disappears (and Histoire seems even more sad by this).... However Magiquone says that if she can't have the world, no one will have it, and prepares to release all the energy she accumulated, something that will destroy completely Tenkai and possibly damage the world as well. Everyone starts fleeing, with the Makers carrying the goddesses away (for example, CC2 carries Noire).
When only Neptune, IF, Compa and Histoire are left, Neptune decides she wants to save Magiquone, if only to remove the expression of suffering from Histoire's face. She also realizes Magiquone didn't release the power of the ancient goddess when the mistakenly copied it because she wanted to oversee the four goddesses and be sure they didn't stray from the right path. Unfortunately, in the end that power corrupted her.
Despite the odds, she believes a miracle can occur if people believe in this. The other leave (and Compa makes her promise she'll be back), and while Neptune prepares to fight Magiquone to save her, she notices her weapon is glowing: the reason is that, below not only the goddesses and the Makers are praying for Neptune (with Noire doing her usual tsundere antics about it) but also the four heroes, represented by the weapons. She charges in - and while it's supposedly a solo battle, if you have any Candidates, they'll show in battle. At the end of the battle, a big explosion occurs in Tenkai....
A year has passed, and no one has seen either Magiquone or Neptune. The passage to Tenkai has been destroyed by the explosion so no one can go there ever again. Histoire goes and visits each continent to see how things are going. In Lastation, Ganache is working with Noire now, his own image of Blanc shattered after realizing who the real thing was. Noire couldn't punish him after he asked for forgiveness. In Leanbox, Vert has locked herself in her room saying she needs to "recover" after Magiquone's fight, and keeps playing Four Goddesses Online with Ranran, who hasn't slept in three days (but according to Vert, "a real warrior can play for a week without food or sleep"). Outside, Ibowaru and the perverted brothers are tasked with the work Vert is supposed to do (and of course both brothers still say nonsense). In Lowee, Blanc is playing with some children, while Financier comes and serves her tea. Blanc was actually busy writing one of her new works, but after five consecutive hours Financier cut the power to stop her. If you get any Candidates, there will be an extra event with them (in my case, Nepgear telling Histoire she is working hard).
In Planeptune, IF and Compa are preparing to go and eat out. They ask Histoire too, and she accepts. Just as they're about to leave, Neptune crashes inside Compa's apartment, saying she's back as promised. Turns out a gate in Tenkai was still working so she managed to use it, however during the flight back she was hungry, so she reverted to her normal form and fell. Soon afterwards they're joined by Magiquone, back to her normal, non-corrupted form. She decides to work hard in order to atone all her sins, and Histoire offers her support. IF and Compa welcome Neptune back, and the game ends.
In a post-credit scene, all the characters, including the minor ones, thank the player for finishing the game and saying they'll be back in a way or another. There are a lot of humorous exchanges in this part, as well. Neptune says bye bye to the player, and the game is over.
The ending is shorter than i expected, at least considering the other games, and I was a bit disappointed the Makers aren't featured in it. Their presence in the post-credit scene makes up for it though. Overall, this is a very flawed game though. As I said multiple times, graphics are really bad (the Vita can do way better than this), there are framerate issues - the patch that corrected most of them was too late - and slowdowns in general. The only two new dungeons made for this game are mostly unimpressive as well since they're pretty simple design-wise. Gameplay-wise, some systems are interesting but they're dragged down by design decisions. The Remake System is really useful, but since most of the recipes is tied to stuff you can find only in certain chapters, missing them can cause problems later, since it applies to healing items as well. It also renders a few features such as the Colosseum useless since they need to be unlocked with this system as well. While not as grindy as V, the game has an irregular difficulty curve which spikes in a couple battles out of the blue. The Disc Make System is far more useful than in V since it's introduced over the course of the story, at least. Another issue is that the amount of equipment is very limited (even counting the Remake System specific weapons) and certain Makers get only 4 weapons in the entire game. As far as battle goes, the system is based on V, which isn't bad. What is bad is the uneven distribution of skills and combo skills: certain attacks are gained at really high levels for no reason, certain characters (like Compa) get tons of CP but no combo you can use, the amount of EX-FINISHERS are uneven, and so on. The Lily Rank is present as well as assist finishers and combinated attacks, but as in the previous games they can be ignored without many consequences. The Processor Units system keeps (and how many games used it now?) being very limited since there's no way to compare the entire stat changes unless you write them down. The story is probably the best part of the game, it removes completely the disjointed feel of the original and a lot of the useless passages that were present. Certain character motivations are better explained, and getting the goddesses early is surely good. The events are funny and the flow of the story is good. Still, it's not without flaws: Chapter 6 had no reason to exsist and could have been added as a part of the other chapters, and Magiquone's reasons are not explained fully. Also, the lack of any kind of side events for the Makers makes it feel they're a bit relegated to the sides, and this aggravated by the fact that some join really late in the game (most of them join in chapter 7). In the end, while the story is enjoyable, the game is bad. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone save fans of the franchise since there are a lot of annoying issues that really pile up in the end. For fans of the series, I think the story alone would be enough for them to play. My overall score for this is 5 out of 10. AFAIK, no, but I haven't unlocked all the optional dungeons.

a few quick question regarding the game. Do you lose any of the other goddesses once you obtain them. I remember in the first game, they were share based but i recently got Noire through the main story line. Is it the same with Blanc and Vert? Also what are the requirements for the true ending and when do you have to deal with that?

Sounds like the makers are no different then how they are in Victory. Shame really, because I always felt that they lacked the same versatility of the CPUs (Broccoli in particular really needs more offensive skills).
Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those people who think "the makers should transform too". The thing is though traditionally the makers join the party before the CPUs but in this game it seems like the makers are already obsolete by the time they join.

I used almost everyone in battle. After a certain point it's up to personal preferences. For the first two chapters they get in then leave for story reasons. Then in the following chapters they join permanently and they leave the party temporarily later on for a short time (again, due to the story).

Well, since no one else has posted it: Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth 1 Coming Westward this Summer
Those who don't like clicking, there will be English and Japanese voiceovers, with English subs. In addition, we will see a retail and digital release in the US, but ONLY digital in other regions (Europe). Thoughts.

Even if I'll sound completely foolish for saying this, I would have honestly preferred if NISA still had the rights to the Neptunia series. At least "they" knew what the fans wanted and were able to release things physical in ALL regions, what IFI does is fucking pathetic and they think Europeans aren't interested in the series.
Why couldn't IFI just come in a agreement with NISA and let them publish Re;Birth in Europe?

Ugh, this is exactly what I was afraid of... Why did IFI even need to interfere?! What happened with NISA and the rights anyway? They're releasing PP for vita soon aren't they? I'm still undecided on what I'm going to do. Cave in and buy digital or import a NA copy (I'll probably buy both like I did for Hatsune Miku Project Diva, cause i'm crazy like that ) The future for this series looks very bleak (regarding retail) for us Europeans

It's not necessarily impossible. NISA has been done to do Europe releases for other companies, such as ATLUS with Persona games and XSeed with several of their titles.
Then again, it's not like Europe is really being "looked over." They ARE releasing the game over there, but not in physical. I'd imagine that in some logistical way that they simply can't afford it since they should obviously know that such a population exists. In most cases, a release is digital or nothing due to release costs. Considering that this is a early release for them and they don't know the size of the European Neputunia VITA fanbase, they most likely want to play it safe and not go into the red in their first major release.
I understand why you are upset with the way it was released, but yelling at their perceived incompetence when they haven't even released a single game yet is a bit premature.
