The game that rebooted the franchise after CH found out that people wanted more HDN goodness. This was also my second HDN game that I've played. Now lets see...The gameplay was definitely better than HDN Original. Once again, the characters were pretty good. I did like how Nepgear gets herself into some predicaments even though they're not intentional lol. The story was alright overall but it wasn't as good as HDN Original. The music was pretty good as well, especially the battle theme and the boss themes, but they're not better than the music in HDN Original IMO. Getting shares is definitely a lot easier since it's not as tedious as it was in HDN Original. It was also pretty interesting for CH to take HDN down the dark path with that conquest ending . I do admit that I cried at first but thinking about it now, it was definitely a change in pace. With the right build up and execution, the conquest ending would have been better.
Now for the downside. Getting the specific endings can be annoying after you run out of chirper events since the only other way to raise your lily ranks is to use the characters in battle a lot, which can be annoying, especially when going for the true ending. Now getting the conquest ending only consist of getting a crap load of shares for Planeptune from every other small city and landmass and that's just ridiculous. There's a difference between a challenge and something tedious.
Overall, the game is definitely a lot better than HDN Original but in terms of gameplay, Victory beats MK2. I would recommend this if you would like to play MK2 on the console instead on a Vita or if you don't have a Vita and if you want a challenge.
